Bangalore (Karnataka) [India], June 9: In celebration of World Environment Day, major Ed-Tech brand BYJU’S joined hands with the Hulimavu Kere Tharanga organization to conduct an interactive session on environmental awareness and waste segregation at Sri Champakadhama Government School in Bannerghatta.

The brand understands that World Environment Day is of utmost importance as it serves as a global platform to raise awareness and promote action for environmental protection. It reminds us of our responsibility to preserve and sustainably manage our planet’s resources.

By conducting an event like that, the volunteers empowered children with knowledge and instilled a sense of responsibility towards the environment. The volunteers organized various activities, including compost-making and a planting session, to engage the students in hands-on learning experiences.

The two-hour interactive session commenced with a presentation on composting and waste management. The volunteers explained the importance of waste segregation and the positive impact it can have on the environment. Using visual composting materials, they demonstrated how to set up a composting system, encouraging the students to actively participate and learn firsthand. Through engaging discussions and interactive activities, the students gained valuable insights into sustainable waste management practices.

Following the informative session on composting, the volunteers shifted the focus toward the importance of planting trees. They emphasized the crucial role that plants play in maintaining a healthy environment by providing oxygen, reducing carbon dioxide, and supporting biodiversity. The students actively participated in the planting activity, where they were assigned responsibility for nurturing the plants and ensuring their growth.

The visit to Sri Champakadhama Government School on World Environment Day, part of BYJU’S Education for All, was a resounding success.
